A Legacy Rooted in Tradition
Jeyam Jasmine Nursery traces its roots to Thangachimadam, Rameswaram, where jasmine cultivation began in 1910 as part of a humble family farm. What started as a small agricultural practice grew through generations of dedication and deep respect for the land.

Alongside jasmine, the family cultivated betel leaves, lemons, papayas, curry leaves, and seasonal vegetables using natural farming methods and desi cattle. Even in times when transport was limited and trade relied on local exchange, jasmine remained at the heart of their livelihood — cherished for its divine fragrance, resilience, and deep cultural significance.
OUR JOURNEY
The Beginning
Jeyam Jasmine Nursery began in Thangachimadam, Rameswaram as a small family farm rooted in natural cultivation. Alongside traditional crops, jasmine became central to the land — valued for its fragrance, resilience, and cultural significance.
1910
Where It Began
Innovation & Learning
Building upon his father's foundation, Mr. Chinnasamy pioneered early air-layering propagation techniques in the region. Through careful observation and natural shade-based rooting methods, healthier and stronger jasmine plants were developed — shaping cultivation practices for generations.
1930s
Learning from the Land
Expansion with Integrity
As transportation improved, demand extended across Tamil Nadu. The nursery expanded thoughtfully, maintaining strict focus on plant strength, genetic purity, and fragrance quality. Growth was steady, never rushed — always guided by authenticity.
1970–2000

Legacy & Leadership
The nursery evolved with structured operations, digital outreach, and a refined focus exclusively on jasmine. Now led by Mrs. Vaishnavi Srithar, Jeyam Jasmine Nursery continues to preserve authentic Madurai Gundu Malligai through four generations of dedication and care.
